ÜberConf iPad Program

No Fluff Just Stuff is going paperless! As an attendee at NFJS, you will be issued an iPad to use during the conference. The iPad will come preloaded with event content and the NFJS iPad application. If you have an iPad, feel free to use it. Our app is available on the app store.

Each year, NFJS hosts 25 technology conferences in cities throughout the United States. In 2001, the NFJS tour went through approximately 1,500,000 pieces of paper! We are very excited to move away from a paper based process to a dynamic tablet based e-binder solution.

NFJS iPad app features include: schedule details, viewing session slides, taking notes, submitting evaluations, preview video, and more...

iPad Checkout Process

The iPad will be issued to you during conference registration. You must return the iPad at the end of the event. During iPad checkout, your information will be retrieved from the attendance list, the iPad will be registered to you and you will receive a confirmation email.

If you have not used an iPad, you will find it very intuitive and easy to use. Below are some quick tips to help you get started.

iPad Controls

iPad Buttons

Basic Use

  • Home Button - use the home button to: wake the ipad screen, exit an app and return to the home screen. Double touch the button to reveal running apps (multi-tasking).
  • Swipe Gesture - many apps make use of the swipe gesture. But you will use it most often to unlock the device when the screen is locked.

iPad Apps

There are several apps installed on the iPad. You will mainly use 1) NFJS App 2) Safari Web Browser. Since these are shared devices, apps which require authentication such as email and twitter will be disabled.
