CodeHealth MCP: AI without the slop

In this 90-minute workshop, you will move beyond simply “fixing bugs” to mastering the art of world-class code quality. Most developers spend their days in “haunted” codebases where technical debt feels like a terminal diagnosis. Using the CodeHealth MCP you will learn to use AI effectively, without slop, so you can focus on what really matters - systems thinking, architecture, planning, etc . We shift the focus from reactive “firefighting” to proactive “preventative medicine,” ensuring your codebase remains maintainable and high-quality as it scales.

You will learn to:

Triage Technical Debt: Use the CodeHealth MCP to scan for “symptoms” (smells and anti-patterns) and prioritize what to fix first based on impact.

Perform Non-Invasive Surgery: Uplift legacy code by refactoring with MCP-guided precision—improving readability and performance without breaking existing functionality.

Implement “Health Guardrails”: Learn how to use the MCP to maintain high standards while shipping new features, preventing “rot” from creeping back in.

The Project

You will be provided with a selection of starter projects - real-world scenarios featuring less-than-ideal codebases. You can choose your preferred environment from:

Together, we will use the CodeHealth MCP to diagnose the mess, implement a requested new feature, and wrap it all in a robust testing suite to ensure that the codebase is better than it was before.
